Your food choices play a key role in your weight gain as it also bothers on your insulin intake. Your food choices should include foods that will enable you to live healthily and reduce the weight. To achieve this;

Your daily meals should be made of fiber-rich foods, which are less starchy are mostly whole grains foods and low carbs, fats, vegetables, and fruits. And to help manage your weight, fewer carbohydrates will help you know the insulin dose you require.
  • Skimp on sugary/sweetened drinks and beverages: avoid these high content sugar and sweetened beverages will increase your blood sugar levels. They contain high calories that you don’t need at all. However, you are an exception, when you do experience too low sugar blood levels. You can take sugar beverages sometimes to raise your blood sugar level a little.

How Active You Become

The lack of physical movement is a contributing factor to weight gain. Well, another way to have your weight controlled is being physically active. ‘Do it myself’ should be your quote every day. Make it a point to do things by you that way you get yourself engaged actively rather than getting it done by someone. Take a walk to the supermarket nearby, have snow cleared in your doorway by yourself than a hired person, play with your kids and grand kids around, take jogging exercises with your partner etc. Also, being active means you require less insulin dose.

Have a lifestyle change and have your weight managed properly even though you have diabetes. Diabetes medications and insulin are recommended as these lifestyles stated above don’t help. But you need to get a hold of yourself and be positive. Diabetes and weight gain are possible but so is diabetes and weight control. The problem is staying disciplined and adhering to the management regimen when diagnosed.
